Spartanburg Detention Officer Arrested

Following an investigation by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s in cooperation with the jail, the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office this morning arrested Thomas Douglas Brown, a detention officer employed at the jail, and charged him with Possession of Prescription Drugs without a Prescription and Carrying Contraband into the Jail. Thomas Douglas Brown is a white male age 42 who has been employed at the jail since October 27, 2007. Prior to working at the jail, Mr. Brown was employed in private industry. Following his arrest, Mr. Brown was terminated from his position as a detention officer effective this date and he is currently being detained in the jail awaiting a bond hearing.
