Over 200 pounds of Marijuana seized in traffic stop

A vehicle stop was initiated on a ford escape on i-85 northbound near the 77 mm in spartanburg county for failure to maintain lane. Contact was made with the driver, livingston roach. During the course of the traffic stop, gilbert observed numerous indicators of criminal activity. Deputy gilbert asked mr. Roach for consent to search the vehicle and he agreed.

Deputy carraway arrived during the stop and introduced psd deuce to the vehicle, which resulted in a positive alert to the presence of the odor of narcotics. After the canine alert, mr. Roach fled on foot into the woods. Canine tracking team responded and located mr. Roach in the woods where he was arrested without incident. Vehicle was searched and approx. 257 Lbs of marijuana was located in the rear cargo area of the vehicle.
