Operation Medicine Drop

The Henderson County Sheriff’s Office will be participating in North Carolina’s 2nd Annual Operation Medicine Drop. This program is administered by Safe Kids North Carolina and is designed to provide citizens with opportunities to safely and securely dispose of unused, unwanted or expired medications.

In 2010 this program collected and disposed of more than 2 million dosage units of medications across the state.

Sheriff Rick Davis encourages everyone to remove their old or unused medications and states “participation in this program will significantly reduce the chances of our children being accidentally poisoned and will aid in keeping our water systems and environment chemical free”

Medications may be dropped off on the following dates, times and locations listed below:
Friday, March 25th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at Jackson Park in the parking lot behind field 4.
Saturday, March 26th from 10:00 a.m.-2:00 p.m. at the following drop off sites.
Ingles located at 220 Highland Lake Road in Flat Rock.
Ingles located at 3643 Howard Gap Road (at Hwy 64) in Hendersonville.
Ingles located at 2901 Hendersonville Road in Fletcher.
Ingles located at 6400 Brevard Road in Etowah.
