Jason Will Williams

The Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office is assisting the Cowpens Police Department in their search for an individual who escaped from their custody earlier today.

Jason Will Williams was arrested by the Spartanburg County Sheriff’s Office in March 2010 for a series of charges in connection with an Armed Robbery at Smile Makers on Sha Lane and he was later charged with a Home Invasion of an elderly couple a month or so earlier. Mr. Williams was last seen wearing an orange in color detention center jumpsuit.

The Sheriff’s Office is providing additional manpower, K-9 team and aviation assets to assist in the search for Mr. Williams. The Spartanburg Communications Center has used the reverse 911 system to notify residents in the search area of the steps they should take.

If anyone has seen Mr. Williams or knows where he is they are asked to call 911 or CrimeStoppers at 888.CRIME.SC. Mr. Williams should be considered dangerous and the public is asked not to approach him or to take any steps to attempt to capture him.
