Arrest Made in Richey Street Homicide

Anderson, SC (April 19, 2011) Anderson County Sheriff’s Office Investigators have made an arrest in Saturday’s homicide that occurred at Richey Street in Anderson, SC.
Anderson, SC (April 16, 2011) Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Richey Street after Anderson County Fire officials located a deceased victim once the residential fire was contained. Along with Anderson County Fire Dept. and Anderson County Coroner’s Office, Sheriff’s Investigators began a death investigation of victim Allison Pinsley. A resident and boyfriend of Allison Pinsley, Mitchell Guigou, had apparently sustained burn related injuries as a result of the residence fire. Guigou was transported to the Anderson Area Medical Center where the severity of his injuries were assessed, and later transferred to the Joseph Still Burn Center located in Augusta, Ga.
Investigators determined that Guigou was responsible for the death of victim Pinsley and for the fire which occurred at their residence. Anderson County Sheriff’s investigators have charged Mitchell Guigou with murder and arson investigators with Anderson County Fire Dept. have charged him with Arson third degree.
Guigou was detained by Richmond County Sheriff’s Office in Georgia upon his release from the Joseph Still Burn Center until the transfer of custody could be arranged with the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office. Guigou will be housed at the Anderson County Detention Center where he will await a bond hearing.

I just spent a week in the same cell with Mitchell at the Anderson County jail. He was the nicest person I met the entire time I was out there. My charges are bogus, but I know the sheriffs dept. had to do their job. Mitchell is remorseful for what he did and he told me he deserved what ever punishment he got. But if it hadn’t been for him encouraging me that I would be alright, I would have went crazy in that pigpen we had to live in. I actually feel sorry for him for the conditions he has to live in. And he has a bad tooth that causes him constant pain and the only dental work you can get in that jail is a tooth pulled and the prisoner has to pay $150 to get that done. Now, how are you suppose to come up with any money if you are in jail? He never told me exactly who he killed, he just kept telling me he belonged there and that I didn’t. He said he had a drug problem and it messed up his thinking. And I don’t care what he did, he’s still a human being and should not have to suffer with a tooth ache all the time. Poor guy drank hot water all the time because cold water made his tooth hurt worse. Nobody would let a dog suffer like him.
