Missing Girl Located in Charleston County
On May 5, 20117, at approximately 1925 hours, the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office responded to Trenholm Drive, James Island, in reference to a disturbance. Upon arrival deputies met with a complainant who advised there had been several people fighting at a party. The complainant identified a person named “Grace” as causing the disturbance and that she was wanted by the police. Deputies located “Grace” hiding in the bushes behind the residence. Upon seeking her identification it was learned that subject “Grace” was actually Savannah Grace Woods who was listed as a runaway through Charleston City Police Department.
Deputies noted that Woods appeared unsteady on her feet and appeared intoxicated. Woods was argumentative and refused to cooperate with deputies. A pick-up order was confirmed and Woods was taken into custody. Woods continued to be disorderly cursing and kicking deputies and others in the area. While attempting to secure Woods in the deputy’s’ cruiser Woods head butted the deputy several times causing the deputies tooth to break, minor cuts to the deputies lip, and minor swelling to the head from the head butt. Woods also on several occasions kicked at the windows and door of the deputy’s cruiser causing damage to the door.
Woods as lodged in the Al Cannon Detention Center on charges of Resisting Arrest, Assault on a Police Officer while Resisting Arrest, Assault and Battery 3rd Degree, and Malicious Damage To Property.
