James Island Shooting
On March 30, 2011 around 3:00 pm, deputies responded to Folly Road at the Kangaroo gas station in reference to a shooting. Upon arrival they met with the witness/complainant who advised that around 2:30 pm, the parking lot filled quickly with cars and people. The witness stated that they heard yelling at cussing outside the business and identified suspect 1, a black male that is recognized as a frequent customer at the store.
There were several spent shell casings in the area where the weapon was fired. Several more were found at the other end of the parking lot. The surveillance camera caught the incident on tape. He was waving his arms around and began shooting at a gold Chevy Impala. The victim, a younger black male, jumped into the driver’s seat during the shooting, started the vehicle and left the scene. It was unknown at this time whether the victim was actually struck. During the review of the tape, Charleston PD notified deputies that they were out with a gold Chevy Impala with an injured driver.
The suspect is on the right side of the photos, black male wearing an untucked white t-shirt and blue jeans.
