Homeless Man Severely Beaten in Greenville

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a location off Cedar Lane Road and Hwy 253 after a caller stated that a homeless man was lying down, unresponsive, with abrasions to his face. The man has been identified as Terry Steven White, 55 year old white male. White appeared to have been physically assaulted but investigators are not clear on where the incident may have happened. An unidentified subject came to the location where White was staying earlier this morning to pick him up to work when he discovered White had been assaulted so he called for EMS to respond. White had been living outside in a brushy area where deputies found a mattress, food, and clothing under the tree where he had been staying. White was transported to the Greenville Memorial Hospital where he is listed in critical condition. Investigators are asking anyone with any information to please call the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office or Crime Stoppers at 23-CRIME.
