Anderson Sheriff’s Office Warns of Auto Theft Scheme

Anderson, SC (Wednesday September 29, 2010) Anderson County Sheriff’s Office would like to caution those who may be selling a vehicle to watch out for a scheme that has resulted in several auto thefts in Anderson. 
 
Anderson County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating several auto-theft cases that have occurred in the Southside and Westside area of Anderson.  In each incident, the suspects targeted vehicles that were advertised as being “for sale”.   In all the cases, the suspects would make contact with the owner of the vehicle and test drive the vehicle, never to return. 
 
The suspects are described by the victims and witnesses as a black male and a black female 25 to 40 YOA.  If anyone has any information in reference to these car thefts, they are asked to call the Anderson County Sheriff’s Office at (864) 260-4400
