Toy Drive in Lexington County

Lexington County Sheriff’s Department deputies will accept new, unwrapped toys for the annual Sheriff’s Department Holiday Toy Drive between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Friday, November 26 at a Wal-Mart Supercenter at 1780 South Lake Drive near Lexington. Deputies also will accept non-perishable food items for the annual Sheriff’s Department Holiday Food Drive.

Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts encourages citizens to bring toys to the Wal-Mart Supercenter for the annual Sheriff’s Department Holiday Toy Drive.

Toys that are donated to the Sheriff’s Department will be given to The Salvation Army, Metts said. Non-perishable food items that are donated to the Sheriff’s Department will be given to Harvest Hope Food Bank and Lexington Interfaith Community Services. Toys also will be distributed to children who are patients at Children’s Hospital at Palmetto Health Richland.

Citizens can bring new, unwrapped toys and monetary donations to the Lexington County James R. Metts Law Enforcement Complex, 521 Gibson Road, Lexington, Metts said.

Metts said citizens who want to make a donation for the toy drive can call Sgt. Henry Dukes at (803) 600-6577 or administrative assistant Tammy Taylor at (803) 785-4988. Citizens also can e-mail Dukes at hdukes@lcsd.sc.gov or e-mail Taylor at ttaylor@lcsd.sc.gov.

Citizens who want to donate money can send checks, made payable to the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, to: Tammy Taylor, Lexington County Sheriff’s Department, P.O. Box 639, Lexington, S.C. 29071. You should note on the check that the money is for the Sheriff’s Department Toy Drive.
