Cash Kwik Robbed in Lexington
Lexington County Sheriff’s Department detectives on Thursday, January 27 released video that was recorded by a surveillance camera of a robbery that occurred at about 10 a.m. on Tuesday, January 25 at a Cash Kwik business at 6169 St. Andrews Road near Irmo.
Lexington County Sheriff James R. Metts said the video was posted to the wall of the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department Facebook page at www.facebook.com/lcsd.fb. The Facebook page also can be accessed by clicking on the Facebook icon on the Sheriff’s Department web site (www.lexingtonsheriff.com).
Detectives actively are pursuing leads concerning the identity of the man who committed the robbery, Metts said. The employee who was robbed at the Cash Kwik was unable to provide detectives with a detailed physical description of the robber.
The employee told detectives that the man was black and was wearing blue coveralls that are worn as work clothes, Metts said. The employee also told detectives that the man was wearing a white bandanna that covered his face. The man stole an undetermined amount of money from the business and rode away on a black or blue mountain bicycle.
Metts asked anyone with information about the robbery or a man who has been seen riding a black or blue mountain bicycle on St. Andrews Road or Old Bush River Road to call the Lexington County Sheriff’s Department at (803) 785-8230 or CrimeStoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC.
