Charleston Officers Looking For Shooting Suspect

Charleston County Sheriff’s deputies responded to Savannah Hwy in Charleston at approximately 4:13 a.m. on report of a shooting at the Waffle House. Upon arrival deputies located two males in the parking lot who sustained gunshot wounds, one fatal and one life threatening. A third person received minor injuries due to falling inside the restaurant.

Witnesses advised that an altercation began inside the restaurant then spilled outside into the parking lot; shots were then exchanged between persons inside and a shooter outside of the restaurant. The shooter outside of the building was described as a B/M with dreads and a red shirt possibly a jersey type. It’s unknown if the shooter left on foot or in a vehicle.

Injured parties were transported via Charleston County EMS to the Medical University.

Detectives continue to investigate the case and the Charleston County Coroner’s Office is working to identify the victim.
