Charleston County: Auto/Pedestrian Incident

Deputy James Foster was travelling on Hwy 61 last night around midnight to assist another deputy. He was not using his lights and sirens at the time when an individual riding a bicycle rode in front of his cruiser. According to the initial information the bicycle rider was wearing dark clothing and crossed from the passenger front side of the cruiser to the left when he was struck. He was transported to MUSC with non-life threatening injuries. The deputy was not injured in the accident and the Highway Patrol is investigating. Deputy Foster has been with the Sheriff’s Office for more than twenty years. There is no video available.
