Blind Man Missing In Moore Community
On Saturday, 10/08, Officers responded to Eagles Lane in the Moore community of Spartanburg County in reference to a missing adult. Upon arrival, officers met with complainant, Ronnie, who stated that his handicapped son, Michael, who is visiting from Kannapolis, NC, was missing. Ronnie states that Michael is blind from a prior injury and has been blind for approximately 10 years. Ronnie stated that Michael takes klonopin for anxiety, but has not taken the medication today. Ronnie said that Michael was walking around the front yard talking on the telephone when Ronnie returned home from the store. Shortly after, Ronnie noticed that Michael was missing.

Ronnie states that he drove around looking for Michael with negative results, and then called for police response. Deputies searched the interior of the home, all vehicles, and storage buildings. Afterwards, deputies secured a scent article and deployed a bloodhound for a track. When the track was completed, there were no traces of Michael. After speaking with Ronnie further, he states that just before he noticed Michael was missing, a car had driven down their road with the headlights on, and then came back up the road with only the parking lights on.
