Two Arrested in Anderson for Child Abuse

ANDERSON, S.C. Sheriff’s Office investigators have arrested an Anderson couple for abusing an infant and denying it medical treatment. Deputies were called to the AnMed Health Emergency Room yesterday afternoon when a 17 month-old female child was brought in with head trauma. The infant was found to have numerous skull and facial fractures, along with burns, inconsistent with accidental injuries. An investigation into the incident resulted in the child’s mother, Ebonee’ Angelica Bowers (23), being arrested and charged with Inflicting Great Bodily Injury Upon a Child. The mother’s boyfriend, Dametrius Wadell Freeman (22), who is not the child’s natural father, was arrested and charged with Unlawful Neglect of a Child. The couple lived together at 2103 South Main Street, Apt. 11-C, in Anderson, where the incident occurred on August 3. Bowers has two other children – another 17 month-old female (the injured child’s twin) and a two year-old male. Neither showed signs in injury. All three children have been placed in protective custody. The injured child was taken and admitted to the Greenville Memorial Hospital. Her condition is critical. Both are in the Anderson County Detention Center awaiting a Bond Hearing.
this is ridiculous how can you harm a child in that kind of way ?
I THINK THEY SHOULD GET THE SAME TREATMENT THEY SHOWED THAT POOR LITTLE BABY GIRL..
I agree with the jennifer above this comment…they should do the same to them as they did to that poor baby. There is nothing worse than harming an innocent baby.

I hate to hear things like this, it makes me very sad for the child. No child should have to go threw child abrussive. I pray that the child have a full recovery, and safe and secure life.
these people make me sick! i pray that the baby girl makes a great recovery. as for the couple…may God have mercy on their soul! i hate they chose the wrong path to go down and i pray that they are punished as God sees fit!
now for something like this someone should have their private part removed and not be able to make another baby and the same thing for the woman and I can’t even say what should happen to the….god forgive me for even thinking what should be done..

Child abuse is the one thing I really can’t stand. I’m not too old, or too mature. But, I know this is complete bullshit. No child should ever have to go through this. It just shows that these people are so weak that all they can do is injure an infant. -Amie.

Why do you not reach out to your hurting neighbors and discover their needs – - OH WAIT – - that would invade their privacey and “it is not my position” All Ya All should have done to you what you want done to these two as you are equally responsible for these actions by not being neighbors!
@ Mykel, you need to step back and realize that you are bashing on others that are 100% against child abuse!!! You, on the other hand evidently condone it, you should not tell others to reach out and help their neighbors when you don’t fully know the situation at hand! This could have very well caused harm to someone who may have tried to intervene. Maybe other family members may have been able to alert someone as to what was going on…CHILD ABUSE is not always seen in the light of day for others to witness..Neighbors around them were probably unaware!! I agree with all the postings before yours…BEAT THEM as they beat the child…An eye for an eye!
I hate to see any child abuse cases. I do not have any sympathy for these two. What they done to this child is horrible and no excuse. I don’t care what you are going through, that is no excuse to take it out on your child , stop having kids if you cannot take care of them .Abuse is not right i have two kids ages 5& 2 I am a single parent and life is hard but kids do not ask to be here , so take responsibility for them and treat them right .I hope they get long jail sentences.

Religion is the most rampant form of child abuse… We should arrest any that expose kids under 18 to it. Until that day it will never be a world free of child abuse. Any that push/expose children to religion are child abusers/molesters too. So don’t over react when people are charged w/ a form of “physical” abuse. Trash often have the most children in countries. Educated responsible people are less likely to have 10 w/ multiple partners. Hence we are filled w/ trash producing more toxic forms of it. Women can have items inserted to avoid getting pregnant for years. That is an option that I’d like to see used on 10-17… MTV wouldn’t have their 16 & pregnant shows then.

I pray the abused child makes a full recovery from the physical injuries and all the children find peace and love for the rest of their lives!!!!! Their is only one judge of people and that is our Lord and Savior, we will all have to answer for what we have done. For a lot of people that should be really scary!!!!

I agree with everything that everyone has said about these lowlives. I feel that they shoundn’t have had any kids if they wheir going to do nothing but cause alot of abuse to this presious little baby. I hope they get what they deserve.

Some get arrested….some don’t! how do you feel about a man that would take his fist to a childs back,She tells a doctor at the hospital who did it and the Police say well a judge wouldn’t give us a warrant,What judge wouldn’t give a warrant with pictures of her back and a doctor’s report? Same man peeping in the kitchen window watching the child eat Police said thats not classified as a peeping tom…then what is???
