TEEN CHARGED IN BLUE RIDGE HIGH SCHOOL BEATING
Deputies say they have made an arrest after an Upstate high school student says he was assaulted at school and hospitalized.
The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office arrested 16-year-old Damian James Greer Thursday. Greer is being charged as an adult with assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature. The felony charge brings a maximum of 20-years behind bars.
Greer is accused of beating up 17-year-old Austin Farmer at Blue Ridge High School Tuesday.
Farmer says he was knocked unconscious in the cafeteria bathroom. He had his jaw and several teeth broken. Farmer will require plastic surgery for his injuries.
According to an incident report, Greer challenged Farmer to a fight. When Farmer refused, the report states Greer punched him several times and then kicked him when he fell to the floor.
Greer is being held at the Greenville County Juvenile Detention Facility. He will have a bond hearing Thursday at 9:30 p.m.
