Mother Arrested After Children Found Wandering in the Road

On Wednesday, June 22nd, and again on Thursday, June 23rd, Deputies were called out by concerned citizens who found young boys wandering close to the roadway near their home. When deputies responded on Tuesday, a citizen had observed a 4 year old boy run into the roadway. The little boy could not tell the deputy where he lived, but after some checking of information obtained from the boy, the deputy was able to figure out where the child lived. The deputy found the boy’s mother at home in bed asleep, and another younger brother inside the home asleep as well. Ms. Jones’ mother arrived on the scene and assured the deputy that she and other adult relatives would take care of the children the remainder of the day. On Thursday, another citizen saw the two brothers in the roadway about a mile from their home. The deputy went back to the residence to find a DSS worker who was there following up on yesterday’s report. The boy’s mother, Ms. Jones, had just then noticed that the boys were not in the house. Due to the consecutive incidence of her small children being able to leave the home without Ms. Jones being aware, the deputy made the decision to place both boys into Emergency Protective Custody.
The findings in these incidents were presented to a Spartanburg County Judge who issued two warrants for the arrest of Lacy Jones, 22 years old, on two counts of Neglect of a Child or Helpless Person. Ms. Jones has been arrested and currently awaiting a bond hearing in the Spartanburg County Detention Center.
I can’t believe anyone could not know where there child was @ all times. God gave us a gift by letting us have them n ppl take advantage of his creations. I think she was just plan wrong

WHAT TYPE OF MOTHER ARE YOU, YOU SHOULD KNOW BETTER THAN TO FALL ASLEEP WHILE YOUR CHILDREN ARE OUT SOMEWHERE AND YOU DON’T KNOW EXACTLY WHERE THEY ARE, IF THAT WAS ME, TRUST AND BELIEVE ME, BABE, I WOULD HAVE NEVER EVEN FALLEN ASLEEP AT A TIME LIKE THAT. SO, NOW YOU HAVE TO PAY THE CONSEQUENCES FOR YOUR ACTIONS AND SIT UP IN JAIL FOR WHAT YOU DID. I KNOW YOU’LL THINK ABOUT IT NEXT TIME YOU THINK ABOUT FALLING ASLEEP.
