Henderson Couple Arrested for Multiple Burglaries
Henderson County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Detectives have arrested two people in connection with multiple crimes that targeted an elderly Flat Rock, North Carolina woman.
On April 27, 2011 the victim reported that she was asleep in her bedroom and was awakened by the audible alarm of her security system. She further stated that prior to the responding officers arrival she saw an unknown white male in her residence and when she encountered him he covered his face with his hands and ran from the residence.
On Thursday, May 5, 2011 the victim reported that approximately $75.00 in United States currency had been stolen from her purse while it was in her residence.
On Friday, May 6, 2011 the victim reported that a third theft had occurred and a television set had been stolen as well as currency from her purse.
The investigation conducted by the violent crimes detectives revealed that Justin Wayne Brown and his wife Jessica Lynn Vanderzand were responsible for the burglaries and thefts from the victim and on the afternoon of May 6, 2011both taken into custody without incident. A records check during the investigation also revealed that Brown is currently a registered sex offender.
27 year old Justin Wayne Brown of Nikki Lane, East Flat Rock, North Carolina has been charged with one count of Felony First-Degree Burglary, two counts of Felony Breaking and Entering and two counts of Felony Larceny. He was placed in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $50,000.00 secured bond.
22-year-old Jessica Lynn Vanderzand also of Nikki Lane, East Flat Rock, North Carolina has been charged with one count of Felony Conspiracy to commit First-Degree Burglary and two counts of Felony Conspiracy to Break and Enter a building with intent to commit larceny. She was placed in the Henderson County Detention Facility under a $15,000.00 secured bond.
