Greenville Woman Fires at Officers After Making Suicidal Threats

Shortly after 9:00 pm on Thursday October 20th, deputies with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for service at Cannon Road in Greer. Deputies were advised that there was a female subject at this location causing a disturbance and possibly making suicidal threats. Upon arrival, the initial deputies attempted to make contact with the female subject. The female subject was uncooperative with deputies and would not allow them access to her inside the residence. While still on scene, the initial deputies heard sounds of gunfire coming from inside the residence. As other units began to arrive, deputies made numerous attempts to speak with the female by phone and loud speaker in an attempt to bring a peaceful resolution to the incident. Once the female stepped outside she confronted deputies with a firearm. Deputies returned fire at the subject. None of the deputies on scene were injured and it is not believed that the female received any wounds from the return fire as well. The female was taken into custody and transported to GMH.
