Greenville Man Arrested on Criminal Sexual Conduct from Facebook

Investigators with the Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has charged Fernando Garcia, 22 year old Hispanic Male, with one count of Criminal Sexual Conduct with Minor under 16, one count of Committing Lewd Act on Child Under 16, and one count of Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor.

On November 24th Deputies were asked to assist the Greenville Police
Department on locating a runaway female juvenile from Ellicot City,
Maryland who was believed to be at an apartment in Greenville County.
When Deputies arrived at an apartment on Brook Glenn Road in Taylors,
they located the 15 year old missing juvenile.

During the investigation Deputies discovered that the 15 year old female
juvenile had met the 22 year old male, Garcia, on FACEBOOK which led to
an online relationship to include mutual phone calls. After making
arrangements, Garcia and his brother drove to Ellicot City, Maryland and
picked up the 15 year old female and she came voluntarily back here to
Greenville. The juvenile stated to Deputies that she had been living
with her boyfriend, Garcia, in Greenville for approximately 7 to 10
days.

Investigators charged and arrested Garcia on Thursday, November 25th and
placed him in the Greenville County Detention Center on a NO BOND.

The 15 year old had been placed into DSS Protective Custody in good
health until arrangements have been made finalized by her parents in
Maryland.
