GREENVILLE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE CHARGES MEN IN CONNECTION WITH A STRING OF ARMED ROBBERIES AND CARJACKINGS

The Greenville County Sheriff’s Office has arrested and charged several Greenville men in connection with a string of Armed Robberies and Carjackings which occurred from November 9, 2010 through January 23, 2011. On November 9th Torri Adaryl Pone and Nigeal George Mcgibbons robbed an individual at gunpoint at the Wachovia Bank ATM located 3045 White Horse Road. The victim stated that after she withdrew money from the machine Pone and McGibbons came towards her with a gun and told her to drop the money. The victim’s three (3) children were in the vehicle when this incident occurred.

On November 10th Torri Adaryl Pone, Niegel George McGibbons, and Jarkevis Diontrez Simpson went to a home at 2745 Anderson Road and approached a man who was outside working on his vehicle and robbed him of money and stole his 1995 Volvo. The victim stated that the men demanded his keys to his vehicle and wallet after one of the men pointed a rifle at him.

On January 17th Torri Adaryl Pone went into the BP Gas Station located at 2008 Anderson Road with a rifle and demanded money from the clerk. The clerk stated that he thought it was a joke and after he hesitated Pone struck him in the face with the rifle. Pone then fled from the store.

Approximately 30 minutes later on January 17th Torri Adaryl Pone and Jarkevis Diontrez Simpson went to August Hills Apartments and approached a man in the laundry room demanding his wallet and keys to his vehicle. The victim stated that after he walked into the laundry room to get his clothes out of a dryer he felt a gun pointed at his back. He stated that the subjects took his wallet and his keys and fled in his 1996 Plymouth Voyager.

On January 19th Torri Adaryl Pone and Niegel George Mcgibbons went to a home located at 2745 Anderson Road and stole a 2000 Honda Accord. The victim stated that while she was sitting in the passenger side of the vehicle waiting on her brother to come back out of a house he was visiting, one of the suspects opened the passenger’s side door, pointed a rifle at her and told her to get out of the vehicle. She stated the subject told her to walk away from the vehicle at which time both subjects left the area in the 2000 Honda.

On January 23rd Torri Adaryl Pone, Niegel George Mcgibbons, and Jarkevis Diontrez Simpson did enter into the front lobby of the La Quinta Inn motel on Old Country Road pointing and presenting a firearm at the clerk while demanding money. The clerk advised that after the subjects took an undisclosed amount of cash they fled in an unknown direction on foot.

Torri Adaryl Pone has been arrested and charged with Five (5) counts of Armed Robbery, One (1) count of Attempted Armed Robbery, One (1) count of Assault and Battery 1st Degree, Four (4) counts of Criminal Conspiracy, and Two (2) counts of Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. Niegel George Mcgibbons has been arrested and charged with Four (4) counts of Armed Robbery, Three (3) counts of Criminal Conspiracy, and Two counts of Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. Jarkevis Diontrez Simpson has been arrested and charged with Three (3) counts of Armed Robbery, Three (3) counts of Criminal Conspiracy, and Two (2) counts of Possession of a Weapon during a Violent Crime. Pone, Mcgibbons, and Simpson are in the Greenville County Detention being held on a No Bond.
