Final Subject From Manhunt In Hartford Section In Custody
The final suspect from this morning’s manhunt in the Hartford Section of Newberry County is now in custody. Jeremy Coker, 20, was apprehended off O’dell Ruff Road around 3:30 pm this day. It was determined that Coker unlawfully entered a home on O’dell Ruff Road and attempted to make a phone call. The home’s owner was not in the house at the time. A short time later, SLED agents assigned to the search were conducting a house by house search and spotted Coker near a house off O’dell Ruff Road. Cocker was taken into custody without incident.
The manhunt began shortly after 6:00 am this day. The search was conducted with bloodhounds from Newberry County, SLED and a SLED helicopter. Also assisting were agents of DNR and local citizens. Sheriff Foster thanked the cooperation of all law enforcement agencies involved and for the calls from citizens in helping locate Coker. In additon to Grand Larceny (Auto) and conspiracy Coker will be charged with Burglary. He was taken to the Newberry County Jail.
