Armed Robbery Near West Side Spartanburg Dollar Tree
Around 4:32 PM this afternoon Deputies responded to a report of a disturbance in the parking lot of the Dollar Tree located on Hadden Heights Road on the Westside of Spartanburg County. Upon arrival Deputies made contact with an adult male victim who informed them that someone armed with a handgun had tried to rob him. Further investigation has revealed that the victim and the suspect had agreed to meet in order for the suspect to purchase some pre-recorded hip-hop music tracks that are used in the recording industry. During the course of
the discussion over the purchase of the music tracks the suspect pulled a handgun and attempted to rob the victim. The victim struggled with the suspect in an attempt to take the handgun away from the suspect. The suspect struck the victim in the head with the handgun once causing a minor injury to the scalp and while the two were struggling over the gun the gun discharged one time striking the roof of the victim’s vehicle. It was at this time the suspect exited the victim’s vehicle and fled on foot toward the Target parking lot. The suspect, who is described as a black male, about 18—24 years old, medium height and build, was last seen leaving the scene in a black in color Honda car driven by a white male. If anyone was in the area of the Dollar Tree and/or Target this afternoon around 4:25—4:35 PM and saw either of the two suspects, the black in color Honda or has any information about this crime they are asked to call CrimeStoppers at 1.888.CRIME.SC.
