Anderson Man Arrested in Thefts

Anderson, SC (Wednesday July 28, 2010) Anderson County Sheriff’s deputies arrested a man involved in thefts from the Gold’s Gym in Anderson.Tuesday morning (July 27, 2010), deputies responded to Wal-Mart on 28 Bypass after receiving information about a man attempting to use stolen credit cards he had taken from patrons of Gold’s Gym.  Several members of Gold’s Gym had reported that personal property was stolen from lockers, including credit cards earlier that morning.
At Wal-Mart, deputies arrested William Joseph Newcomb (43 YOA) who was found to be in possession of the stolen property reported from members of Gold’s Gym.  Newcomb is an escapee from the Department of Corrections out of Rock Hill, SC.   Newcomb is currently being housed at the Anderson County Detention Center.
